Allergy
Allergies occur when your immune system reacts to a foreign substance such as pollen, bee venom or pet dander.
Your immune system produces substances known as antibodies. Some of these antibodies protect you from unwanted invaders that could make you sick or cause an infection. When you have allergies, your immune system makes antibodies that identify your particular allergen as something harmful, even though it isn't. When you come into contact with the allergen, your immune system's reaction inflames your skin, sinuses, airways or digestive system.
The severity of allergies varies from person to person and can range from minor irritation to anaphylaxis — a potentially life-threatening emergency. While allergies can't be cured, Purchase ENT offers allergy testing and a number of treatments can help relieve your allergy symptoms.
Audiology
Purchase ENT's staff of Audiologists, Hearing Instrument Specialists and Otology Techs are professionals who diagnose and treat hearing and balance problems. Our Audiologist Staff is trained to diagnose, manage and treat hearing or balance problems for individuals from birth through adulthood.
If you suspect that you or a family member have a hearing or balance problem, contact us. After carefully reviewing your health history and evaluating your hearing, our team of Audiology Team and Medical Doctors will determine whether your condition might be medically treatable. The care you receive from Physician-supervised hearing care exceeds what you can receive from a “hearing aid shop”. If your condition is not medically treatable, we will recommend care or treatment which may include hearing aids, aural rehabilitation or balance therapy.
CT Scan
With in-office CT Scanning, our patients enjoy the convenience of immediate CT imaging, a faster diagnosis, and the ability to begin their treatment more quickly. Purchase ENT's MiniCAT™ has a much lower radiation dose than conventional (full-body) CT, and affords our patients the comfort of sitting upright in an open design, minimizing claustrophobia.
Purchase ENT's CT Department is Accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Computed Tomography Laboratories.
ENT, Head and Neck Surgery
Otolaryngology or ENT (ear, nose and throat) is the branch of medicine and surgery that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, throat, and head and neck disorders.
Some people refer to it as head and neck surgery. Practitioners are called otolaryngologists–head and neck surgeons, or sometimes otorhinolaryngologists. Otolaryngologists are medical doctors (MD and DO) who complete at least five years of surgical residency training. This is composed of one year in general surgical training and four years in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery. Following residency training some otolaryngologists elect to complete advanced subspeciality fellowship training, which can be 1–2 years in duration.
All of the Doctors at Purchase ENT are Board Certified.
Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Purchase ENT offers facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. Aesthetic plastic surgery is structural cosmetic surgery, including changing the shape of the nose, ears, chin, cheekbones and neckline, and rejuvenative facial plastic surgery which includes procedures that will reverse the signs of aging.
Reconstructive surgery is the correction of congenital, traumatic and post-surgical deformities as well as skin cancer reconstruction.
Ultrasound
With in-office Ultrasound Imaging, our patients enjoy the convenience of immediate imaging, a faster diagnosis, and the ability to begin their treatment more quickly. Additionally, we are able to provide the convenience of Ultrasound-guided biopsies in our office rather than having to go to the hospital for the procedure.
